Meet the guardians of the park

The guardians of the park. When you first immerse yourself in the trail, head towards a vast forest home to some majestic trees: the guardians of the park. Your gentle stroll is guided by visual and sound effects, creating a unique winter symphony.

FALL

Nest of colours. While tracing the path of the surrounding river, discover a rich landscape characteristic of this colourful season: oranges, mauves and pinks blend into a vibrant harmony.

WINTER

Boreal maze. In this maze, buried in the foliage, you’ll be able to glimpse signs of hidden life that will intrigue and amaze you. If you are patient and listen out, little by little, you’ll discover different hibernating animals as well as the secret life of plants…

SPRING

Singing in full bloom. In the heart of the apple orchard, experience something poetic and magical before the blooming flowers. Discover an enchanted, blooming landscape and stroll among the singing apple trees.

SUMMER

Groot-Bijgaarden Castle was built in the 12th century and still belongs to the Bigard family. It rose to fame because, every year, over 1 million tulips, hyacinths and daffodils are planted by hand on its park’s 14 hectares, blooming magnificently in the early spring.

The Nature Illuminated event is environmentally friendly and respects the nature of the park of the Château Grand-Bigard: our device is not invasive for the site and does not require any modification of the plant environment.

Nature Illuminated takes place at Groot-Bijgaarden Castle (Château de Grand-Bigard), Isidoor van Beverenstraat 5, 1702 Dilbeeks.

How long does the experience last?

Nature Illuminated runs from January 21st, 2022 to March 20th, 2022, and is open every day of the week.

Is the experience suitable for children?

The experience is suitable for children, but anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are free for children under 4 years old.

Do I have to arrive at the time indicated on my ticket or do I have to arrive early?

Please arrive at the time indicated on your ticket to avoid any congestion and in order to respect the capacity limits.

What happens if I arrive late?

We may not be able to guarantee entry if you do not show up at the time indicated on your ticket. We will therefore ask you to wait until we can accommodate you.

Although this is an outdoor experience, we will ask you not to smoke on the grounds of the castle.

The closest car park is located just in front of the castle and is free.

Are dogs allowed on site?

No. Dogs are not allowed.

Does the exhibition have access for people with reduced mobility?

No, the experience is not accessible for the PMR.

Can we take pictures?

Yes, photos are allowed.

What happens if it rains?

If it is raining but access can still be guaranteed to the experience, we invite you to bring an umbrella or a jacket suitable for the rain. If you don't have an umbrella, we'll lend you one for the experience or provide ponchos. If the land is not passable due to rain, the event will be postponed until a later date, which will be communicated to you via the email address you indicated during the reservation.
